Sophie Ye Tao is the Managing Director and Head of Business Development and Investor Relations at Immensus Capital. She joined the firm in 2025 and is based in Hong Kong. Sophie leads the firm’s global fundraising, investor relations, and strategic business development efforts.

Sophie brings over 20 years of experience in finance, spanning private equity, public markets, and entrepreneurial ventures. Prior to joining Immensus, she served as President and Chief Executive Officer of SPK Acquisition Corp, a NASDAQ-listed special purpose acquisition company. Earlier, she was a Partner at Hanfor Capital Management, a China-based private equity firm, where she led over US$100 million in investments in the TMT sector.

Previously, Sophie co-founded Ray Shi Capital Group, a U.S.-registered investment adviser focused on global equity investments in Chinese companies. She also served as Senior Investment Manager at Vision Capital Advisors in New York, where she co-managed a China-focused private equity portfolio of over US$200 million.

Her earlier experience includes roles in Equity Capital Markets at BofA Securities, economic consulting at NERA Economic Consulting, and policy advisory at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development in Paris.

Sophie holds a Master of Public Affairs from Princeton University, with a focus on economics and advanced quantitative analysis, and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing.
